The Nobot five-axis carving machine is a high-precision, high-performance machine tool for processing complex curved and irregular surfaces. It requires careful maintenance and upkeep, given its significant cost. Proper maintenance is essential for efficient use and cost savings. Specific maintenance procedures should be developed and implemented based on the type, model, and actual usage, and in accordance with the machine tool's operating instructions. A regular, graded maintenance system should be established.


The Nobot five-axis engraving machine is a high-precision, high-performance machine tool for processing complex curved and irregular surfaces. Maintenance requires great care, given its significant cost. Proper maintenance is crucial for efficient use and cost savings. Specific maintenance should be based on the type, model, and actual usage, and should follow the instructions in the engraving machine manual to establish a necessary regular and graded maintenance system. The following maintenance instructions are for the NF5-2025-F equipment:

I. Maintenance of the NF5-2025-F System

1. Strictly adhere to operating procedures and daily maintenance regulations;
2. Minimize opening the control cabinet;

Oil mist, dust, and even metal powder are commonly present in the air of machining workshops. If these settle on circuit boards or electronic components within the CNC system, they can easily reduce the insulation resistance between components, or even damage components and circuit boards. Some users open the CNC cabinet doors for cooling in summer to allow the CNC system to operate under overload for extended periods. This is highly inadvisable and will ultimately lead to accelerated damage to the CNC system.

3. Regularly clean the control cabinet's heat dissipation and ventilation system
Check that all cooling fans on the control cabinet are working properly. Inspect the air duct filters for blockages every six months or every quarter. If too much dust accumulates on the filter, and it is not cleaned promptly, the temperature inside the control cabinet will become too high.

II. Maintenance of Mechanical Components
1. Maintenance of the Main Drive Chain
Regularly adjust the tension of the main spindle drive belt to prevent belt slippage and missed rotations;

2. Maintenance of the Ball Screw Thread Pair
Regularly check and adjust the axial clearance of the ball screw thread pair to ensure reverse drive accuracy and axial rigidity; regularly check for looseness in the connection between the ball screw and the bed; replace damaged ball screw protection devices promptly to prevent dust or chips from entering.

3. Maintenance of Linear Guides

Regularly check the lubrication of the linear guides and slides to ensure proper lubrication; clean dust and chips from the guide surfaces daily to prevent dust from entering the slides and causing wear and tear.


 

III. Maintenance of the Tool Magazine and Tool Changer
Do not load overweight or oversized tools into the tool magazine to avoid tools falling or colliding with workpieces or fixtures during tool changes; regularly check that the tool magazine's zero position is correct, and that the machine tool spindle's tool change point is in place, and adjust as needed; when starting the machine, allow the tool magazine and tool changer to run empty to check that all parts are working properly, especially that all limit switches and solenoid valves are functioning correctly; check that the tools are securely locked onto the tool changer, and address any abnormalities promptly.
IV. Lubrication System Maintenance

The supporting parts of this machine are all linear guides and linear bearings suitable for high-speed operation,

containing ball bearings or composite materials, which are rolling friction or sliding friction. Without lubrication, the friction wear of the contact parts will increase,

shortening the service life. Therefore, timely lubrication is necessary.

1. Lubrication time: Approximately every 50,000 operations or monthly, oil lubrication should be applied;

2. Grease type: Use butter grease or soap-based lubricating oil No. 2 series;

3. Lubrication locations:

a. Linear guides, slides,

b. Upper and lower screw rods, screw nuts;

4. Lubrication method

a. Slides: Squeeze oil into the slides for internal lubrication,

b. Guides: Apply oil to the surface with a brush;

5. After lubrication and maintenance, remove dust from the equipment surface to prevent accumulation and impact on operation;

V. Machine Accuracy Maintenance
Regularly check and correct the machine level and mechanical accuracy. There are soft and hard methods for correcting mechanical accuracy. The soft method mainly involves system parameter compensation, such as ball screw reverse clearance compensation, coordinate positioning accuracy point compensation, and machine tool return reference point position correction; the hard method is generally performed during major machine overhauls, such as guide rail scraping, ball screw nut pair pre-tightening adjustment, and reverse clearance adjustment.
