The introduction of the ABB IRB 2600 (hereinafter referred to as ABB2600) marks a further expansion of ABB's mid-sized robot family. The IRB 2600 family includes three models with payloads ranging from 12 kg to 20 kg. This family of products is designed to increase productivity in material handling, loading and unloading, arc welding, and other processing applications.

The ABB2600 allows for a maximum payload of 20 kg and optimizes its working range in material handling, loading and unloading, and arc welding applications. The ABB2600 boasts the highest accuracy and acceleration among similar products, and offers flexible mounting options: floor, tilt, wall, inverted, and bracket mounting, helping to reduce floor space and increase equipment utilization. Wall mounting is particularly advantageous. These features allow for more creative workstation designs and optimize robot footprint across various industrial sectors and applications. Three models are available: two short-arm models (arm length: 1.65m) with payloads of 12 kg and 20 kg respectively; and one long-arm model (arm length: 1.85m) with a payload of 12 kg. In pick-and-place and packaging applications, the maximum payload of the vertical wrist can reach 27 kg. This ensures high output and low defect rates, thereby improving productivity.

Industrial robots require a comprehensive system maintenance check once a year to check for abnormalities in the robot control cabinet and body. Maintenance of the ABB IRB2600 robot body requires checking the cables of each axis, power cables and communication cables; checking the movement status of each axis; and checking for oil leaks or seepage in the gearboxes, wrists, etc. Control cabinet maintenance requires checking the main board, storage board, computing board, and drive board, and checking for loose connectors or damaged cables. Any abnormalities should be addressed promptly to prevent minor faults from escalating and affecting the normal operation of the robot.
